Your viewing a piece from the American Brilliant Cut Glass Period. Blown lead crystal that has been hand cut. Produced by the J Hoare Glass Company of Corning, NY circa 1896-1922.
This is a modified piece. Likely originally a decanter as shown in the catalog picture on page 69. Tokio pattern from J Hoare catalog 1896-1911.
It has been turned into a bowl that could be used for small candies such as jelly beans or M&M’s. Coin jar or perhaps a tea light candle holder. It makes a beautiful decor piece that really catches the light on your side table or display cabinet. A wonderful example of the deep and exquisite hand cutting know for this period of exceptional American glass making.
