A large French 1925-1930 art deco pendant in nickel plated solid brass or bronze. It's a mount made by Adolphe Bloch. A Paris based producer of art deco bronze lighting fixtures during the interbellum with a large workshop and store at 7-9 cité Popincourt. Just after the first world war Bloch took over the bronze factory maison Peyret. I found no trace of the Bloch company after the mid 40s. For the pendant on offer Bloch used a large bowl in warm pink colored frosted molded-pressed glass made by Muller frères. It's bowl #5914 in the old Muller product catalog. The chandelier has a height of 67,5 cm (26,6") and a diameter of 44 cm (17,33").
The bowl is signed Muller frères Luneville and the canopy has a model number and the usual AB initials of Adolphe Bloch. This large pendant is in excellent condition. I have re-nickeled and patinated the fixture. And it comes newly wired. It holds an American standard socket.
