What fun-loving person might resist this riotous ceiling fixture? Well, you have to be more than just the “average” fun-lover!
This was custom-made for a restaurant in Berkeley, California, and trickled down to my happy hands from, yes, a fun-loving friend who purchased it when the restaurant went under. Maybe the restaurant owners were having a little too much fun?
At any rate, here it is, and in excellent condition, I might add.
It takes four candelabra-based bulbs, with a maximum of 60 watts each. I will include four small, round, clear 40-watt bulbs with your purchase.
This isn’t exactly a fixture for lighting up the room as though at high noon. It’s for ambiance, and installation in that “perfect spot” which will allow it to be seen, and contemplated, and the viewer to exclaim, “Mon Dieu, where in the world did you ever get THAT?!”
My favorite part of this is that fabulous creamer with its splash of vibrant green.
The shipment of this obviously fragile piece needs to be “white glove,” so that it arrives in one piece. I’ll put it in a large box with lots of bubble wrap and Styrofoam peanuts, and mark it “SUPER FRAGILE” and that should do it. I don’t want to send it through the UPS or USPS shippers for hopefully obvious reasons.
Measurements: 19 inches top to bottom as shown. However, note that the brass shaft above the plate canopy has 3-4 extra inches not seen in the photos. So, really the total drop is effectively 23 inches, installed. The diameter is about 18 inches. less
