In the 'northern landscape setting, the rosy hue of the sky and the pastoral character of the scene lend that idealistic atmosphere characteristic of eighteenth-century landscape painting, in which the 'fulfillment of feeling prevailed rather than the intent of realistic transposition.Restored and retouched, the painting is presented in a styled frame.
