The Getz Bros. Legacy Collection was a nod to the Bronze Age of China which began with the Shang dynasty (ca. 1600–1046 B.C.), the earliest archaeologically recorded dynasty in Chinese history. Bronze, an alloy of copper and tin, played an important role in the material culture of the time and was used to fashion weapons, parts of chariots, and ritual vessels. This nicely-sized ice bucket, attributed to the Getz Bros. Legacy Collection, was crafted from cast non-ferrous metal with an antiqued bronze hue finish with verdigris undertones. The interior is insulated with polystyrene foam with a jadeite-colored plastic liner as well as the underside of the lid. The Legacy Collection consisted of assorted barware shapes, sizes and functions. This handsome fellow is the larger of all ice buckets offered in the collection. It measures 9½” high with lid on and 8” high with the lid off; 8” diameter; 7” wide; interior diameter from the top is just under 7” x 6½” high; weight 3 lbs. 11 oz. In excellent condition with minimal age-appropriate wear. Styled after similar offerings by James Mont, it was made in Taiwan and hails from the 1960s. For a collector of cool looking or out of the ordinary ice buckets, this one should be a must have.
