This Really is an Outstanding Example of a Authentic Early American Antique Child's Snow Sled. It Comes from the Tail End of The Classic Victorian Era - Circa Late 19th Century. The Top Center Panel - Seat is made out of a Solid Piece - Slab of Indigenous North American Hardwood - Most Likely Beech or Alder. The Rest of the Sled is Made Out Fancy Natural Grained Solid Oak or Possibly ? Chestnut Wood. The Top Panel Still Retains its Beautiful Original Hand - Brush Oil Painted Sailboat & Lake Scene on a Artists Pallet as Well as Cattails & Flowers on a Scarlet - Ruby Red Background. It has Wonderful Color Combinations and Naturally Aged Patina. It Also Still Retains it Original Varnished Surfaces that have Developed a Wonderful Dark Honey Color Over the Years. It Also has Attached Hand Wrought Iron Runners. It is in Excellent All Original Cosmetic Condition - Displays Beautifully. There is Some Very Light Honest Age and Use Wear. It is Very Sturdy ( Could Actually Still be Used ) and it has No Damage and No Repairs. I Purchased this Item on one of My Recent Picking Adventures in Lancaster Pennsylvania Region. It could be Displayed in Any Number of Ways.
