Add a touch of Chicago history to your decor with this rare and beautiful antique cast brass door knob from the prestigious Palmer House. This fine quality knob features a center floral rosette with a classic scrolling border and was designed by Holabird and Roche and manufactured by Sargent Hardware Co. in the 1920s. This knob once adorned a hall or a guest room of the amazing Palmer House, which opened its doors in 1925. The hotel was bedecked with garnet-draped chandeliers, Louis Comfort Tiffany masterpieces, and a breathtaking ceiling fresco by French painter Louis Pierre Rigal. It was this stylish opulence and lavish decor that drew many presidents, famous diplomats, dignitaries and celebrities throughout its early days including Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Louis Armstrong and the infamous Liberace. This iconic architectural gem still stands proudly on Monroe and State Street and remains a testament to those glorious days long gone by.
The knob is in very good antique condition with a nice untouched patina. The surface shows normal wear from age and many years of use.

Door knobs dimensions: 2-1/2” in diameter x 2” deep;
Requires a 20 TPI threaded 9/32 (.28”) spindle that allows for the knob to be easily adjusted to fit any door. Includes one thread knob screw.
