Rare find! Possibly my favorite set of nesting tables within the MCM design universe. This is an original set of Bertha Schaefer designed walnut tables for M. Singer and Sons in 1952. They are designed to be a rectangular side table with four interior round tables that come out when you need extra tables. It's brilliant design from a woman designer.
This award winning set of nesting serving tables designed by Bertha Schaefer for M. Singer & Sons in 1952 and produced in Italy for the Singer Modern collection.
These were exhibited in the Good Design show at MoMa in 1952
Each of the four side tables, fully opened, measure 16.5 inches diameter x 22 inches high.
