Add a touch of Chicago history to your decor with this impressive cast brass door knob and plate from the early 1900s. This fine set of American hardware was designed by Chicago architects Holabird and Roche and manufactured by the Yale & Towne Mfg. Co., Stamford, Ct. They once adorned a hall of the amazing Cook County City Hall Building that still stands proudly in the heart of downtown Chicago and is a fine example of the classical revival style. The lower section of the plate displays the seal of the county of Cook March 1831, Illinois.
The knob is fixed to the plate and serves as a dummy knob for any large door. The set is in very good antique condition with normal wear from age and use. The hardware has not been polished and retains an old uniform patina.
