Lovely set of 4 bird themed decorative plates by Alfred Meakin, based on Audubon's Birds of America folio. The assortment includes #168 - Muscivora Tyrranus (Scissor or Fork Tailed Flycatcher); #62 - Columba Migratoria (Passenger Pigeon); #17 - Columba Carolinensis (Carolina Turtle Dove; and #18 - Thryomanes Bewicki (Bewick's Wren). The plates feature a central medallion with images of the bird surrounded by a 2.25" foliated rim with scalloped edges. Mark en verso: Alfred Meakin England and identification as imaging originating from Audubon's Birds of America folio.
Excellent (almost) antique condition; vibrant colors, no chips, no cracks, no crazing, minimal wear.
