He began his career drawing thoughtful caricatures of the people of his hometown in Italy… caricatures without the usual edge. Because of where he lived, he came into contact with great artists of the day such as Giacomo Puccini and Amedeo Modigliani, many of whom became subjects of his drawings. Considered by many to be the “father of modern advertising,” his original posters are especially cherished. less
