Trio of English copper luster pitchers sourced in France and the U.S. In France, this type of pottery is referred … Read more Trio of English copper luster pitchers sourced in France and the U.S. In France, this type of pottery is referred to as "Jersey ware" as much of it entered through the Jersey Islands located in the English Channel separating the two countries.

The copper hued metallic glaze is created by applying a copper-salt mixture to the clay surface before firing. These pieces were fabricated between 1820-1850 by a variety of potters in the U.K. None bears a maker's mark.

Fun fact: a twin version of the polka dot example included in this listing was professionally appraised on-air by Antiques Roadshow on their June 25, 2005 episode filmed in Tampa FL.

Dimensions: polka dot, 5"W x 3.5"D x 4.25"H; blue banded with figures, 4.5"W x 3.25"D x 3.5"H; smallest, 3"W x 2.25"D x 2.75"H.

The two larger pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing. The smallest item has noticeable repairs to the handle, as shown.
