Charming pair of French pottery pieces in blue & white consisting of a large (5"Dia.) round faience lidded trinket box and a oval (5.6"W x 3.6"D) ashtray/catchall with a heraldry center medallion featuring a crown, castle, laurel leaf wreath, and banner with Latin inscription. A lovely pair to display or to corral small items on a vanity, bedside table, or desk.
Marks: on trinket box:, HB Quimper #78; on ashtray / catchall: Offert par le Syndicat d"Initiatives d"ANGOULEME & an illegible maker's mark.
Both are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing, typical minor fabrication flaws of artisan made items.
