The plate was made by The Sterling China Co. exclusively for The Duquesne Club a “Five Star,” “Platinum,” “Distinguished,” private club in Pittsburgh, PA.

About 15 years ago it was used as a paint palate by a textile artist in the Ralph Lauren Home Design studios in NYC. I thought it was fantastic, so I stabilized the gouache with a fixative and hung it on the wall.

It obviously should never be washed and, like all paintings, should not be displayed in direct light as the gouache pigments will fade. It has been hanging on the wall of a dim hallway for years. The colors are as beautiful as they always were.
