Born in Indonesia during the early years of the 20th century, this exquisite blanket chest captures our attention with its intricately hand-carved décor and polychrome accents. A rectangular lid opens to reveal a convenient storage space showcasing a small box on one of the sides. The entire body is adorned with a lovely hand-carved décor with flowers, foliage, diamond motifs, and calligraphy. The underglaze patina presents red, blue, green and mustard highlights that compliment the richly carved structure beautifully. Raised on wheels and showcasing lateral handles, this Indonesian early 20th century blanket chest will be a great decorative addition to any bedroom or living room. less
