The quality of this piece is outstanding as demonstrated in both decorative and workmanship qualities. On the design side: the front fluid flower bouquet in a geometric basket held by a flowing ribbon is amazing, walnut and tulipwood crossbanding, top drawer is decorated with floral and curli cue carving, bottom skirt has repeated shell design, and cabriole carved legs.

Some characteristics show both a decorative element as well as quality construction: the dovetailed drawer is constructed with oak interiors and the shelf is adjustable with peg options.

Brownish red marble and lightly gilded accents on the feet and other carved areas.

It is an extremely beautiful and very well made item. This is an old piece not a later reproduction. It dates from approximately the 1920s. Made in the United States during the period between WWI and WWII but in the French Style. During this time period many of the European artists who emigrated to the US produced some of the highest end furniture.

Width is about 44 1/2 inch. Height is about 37.5 inch. Depth is about 18 inch less
