A pair of rare and fine matching dark brown and antique white ginger jars complete with custom made hand carved rosewood stands and reticulated rosewood tops.
Applied black slip in raised relief forming floral motifs and surrounded by scrolling foliate and flame like tendrils, craquelure visible under glaze. The brown colour is known as 'iron brown' and can best be described as espresso or dark chocolate.
Stamped 'China' - indicates made in the late Republic period and are collectable nowadays. Republic of China (1912-1949)
Exquisite, simple and elegant Chinoiserie accent pieces. Now very collectable and not often seen.
