This large and important 15" round platter is an impressive tour de force showing off the work of one of the most important and influential studio potters of the 20th century.
This charger was produced by them at their studio in Ojai in the 80s/90s
Their studio/home which was built Beatrice Wood
The glaze is a soft satin slightly bespeckled rich creamy white like a fresh layer of snow in the mountain woods of Ojai where this was produced.
Truly a museum piece.

The red felt is glued on the back which can be easily removed but serves as protection to furniture if laid flat and used in utilitarian role but this is certainly a fine art piece of American Art Pottery and has been treated as such less
