Well listed very important French artist. He has auction results for drawings as high as 3.5 million dollars for pastels. He is considered a symbolist painter, but it is hard to put one label on him. This fabulous pen and ink of a sleeping bat is Redon's genius his use of criss cross lines to create a mesh look. He used this technique quite often with his drawings. The image itself measures approximately 9 1/4 inches high by 7 3/4 inches wide. The frame measures 15 inches by 14 inches. This rare piece came out of a Palm Beach Florida Lady's estate. See less
