The Household Magazine was a Texan lifestyle journal published from the 20's onward by Arthur Capper, a Republican senator. Before entering the American political scene, Capper began his career in the publishing industry, eventually owning radio stations as well as multiple newspapers. His most loved publication, Capper's Weekly, ultimately served as a base for his political platform and following as it had a huge rural following.
The magazine addressed, primarily, this rural audience with a focus on women's domestic work. It included advertisements as well as articles about family life, marriage, and traditional wifely values. Certain editions were thematic, like this "Fiction Feature" that spotlighted creative writing pieces. At the time, a subscription to The Household Magazine ran for 25 cents a year!
This beautiful print is in excellent condition and is backed on linen, ready to be framed.
