There is an open, coved section were drapery pole rests within, once installed, with an allen wrench to tighten pole to bracket, and after installing brackets to wall. Allen wrench utilization for installation a must. Diameter of pole capability no more than, 1 1/8" Diameter. Never before used, was only a display sample. 2 3/16" x 5 13/16" x 2 3/16" is exact measurements of hardware bracket. Last image shows back bracket attachment needed for wall mounting, a set added to install. In excellent condition. less
