Description: Chinese garden scroll, freely drawn colored inks on heavy paper, mounted on a shimmering light and dark gold, silk brocade … more Chinese garden scroll, freely drawn colored inks on heavy paper, mounted on a shimmering light and dark gold, silk brocade nakamawashi in a pattern of dragons amid leafy vines, with a shimmering light and dark, mauve, silk brocade, ten and ji in a leafy vines pattern. The scroll is signed, with a poem in Chinese caoshu script and numerous red seal marks in various shapes and sizes scattered about the image. The image size is 24.75" wide x 50" high. The scroll has a gray cord makio and kakio at the top and hongmu jikusaki at the bottom. The outer scroll cover is done in a dark green and ecru, floral, silk brocade. There is an export document with an impressed wax seal affixed to the external cover and another copy without the seal affixed to the top left of the scroll. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century.
