It features an original chinoiserie-painted exterior and interior. This stunning secretary cabinet is both beautiful and functional; both exterior and interior are decorated with elegant chinoiserie, composed of exotic Asian landscapes, flowers, and birds. The chinoiserie interior provides the perfect opportunity to showcase the contents while showing off a beautiful vermillion red that contrasts with the predominant gold exterior.
The secretary midsection, found behind the sloping frontage, is lowered to create a writing desk and reveals a series of small drawers and pigeon holes/storage cabinets. The bottom dresser has a pair of half-size drawers, below which are two full-size graduated drawers, for a total of four drawers.
