This Andy Warhol Foundation rare offset lithograph print custom framed large Pop Art exhibition poster " Flowers " 1970, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Pop Art poster print is published by Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid Spain, printed in Spain in 2014 in an unnumbered limited edition with the licensed authorized rights of The Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts, on the occasion of the " Mitos Del Pop " ( Myths of Pop ) exhibition. It features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1970 titled " Flowers ", Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebaek Denmark, copyright 2014 The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc. / Artists Rights Society ( ARS ) New York, VEGAP, Madrid.
Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. Hid imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, art works, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. he is recognized as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
The iconic Flowers artworks were first exhibited at the famous Leo Castelli gallery in New York City in 1964. Warhol experimented with color, layering and shadows, using different color schemes and painting the flowers in a multitude of vibrant palettes. At the time, flowers was a refreshing departure from his previous artworks addressing mass culture and brands such as the Campbell's Soup Can, as flowers themselves are iconic and timeless, untethered to any particular Pop culture reference or idea.
The rare out of print framed large format Pop Art exhibition poster print measures 39 1/8" W X 23 3/8" H X 1 3/8" D.
It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modernist polished black finish recessed detail metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition consistent with age and very light signs of handling.
