There is a shallow compartment below work surface for paperwork and smalls; lifts via flush ring pull. Each drawer pull has a carved component at the base for ease in pulling.
This tambour door is incredible! It slides on the track and stays shut nicely with or without lock. Door can be locked with included skeleton key.
Eight small drawers within closed-door section. Five additional drawers at top. Open slot shelving as well.
