This Andy Warhol Estate very rare vintage 1990 first edition Endangered Species collector's offset lithograph print custom framed Pop Art poster " Black Rhinoceros " 1983, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Pop Art poster print is published by Nouvelles Images S.A. Editeurs, France, with the licensed authorized rights of The Estate and The Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts, printed in France in 1990 in an unnumbered limited edition. It features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1983 titled " black Rhinoceros ", courtesy Ronald Feldman Fine Arts Inc., New York, copyright 1990 The Estate and Foundation of Andy Warhol.
This is a rare opportunity for true Warhol fans and collectors as this coveted image stated first edition " Andy Warhol Collection " Pop Art poster print is long out of print and very scarce to find. The poster was originally created to support fundraising for The Andy Warhol Foundation and Greenpeace Environmental Organization. The official " AW " Foundation seal of authenticity is printed on the poster is the upper right corner area.
When the state of our planet and the fate of its inhabitants became a cause for alarm, Warhol created art works to reflect that concern. His 1983 " Endangered Species " portfolio represented a new subject matter for him. The complex and dazzling color combinations make the animal images so irresistibly beautiful that one cannot help becoming involved in the environmentalist message conveyed.
The Endangered Species portfolio was commissioned by Ronald & Frayda Feldman, longtime political activists who support innovative arts projects through their art gallery Ronald Feldman Fine Arts in New York City. In 1983 Warhol created a series of artworks that portrayed endangered animals from around the world. Using brilliant colors characteristic of his signature style, and poignant expressions suggest the animals fate, Andy created a dynamic tension between art and reality.
The rare out of print 1st edition collector's framed Pop Art poster print measures 28 1/2" W X 36 1/2" H X 1 3/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern recessed beveled detailed lavender plum purple matte eggshell finish wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling, and very light minor surface wear.
