Huanghuali furniture is a highly sought after type which first became popular in the late Ming dynasty.
Many pieces from the ming and early Qing dynasties are made from huanghuali. It was also reserved for very high status and imperial pieces and rarely used after the mid Qing. Huanghuali came from Hainan, an island off south China, Thailand and south Vietnam.

All information about this piece came from The previous owner and an appraiser and is deemed reliable although not guaranteed. Please ask any questions or for additional pictures to satisfy yourself as to what you would be purchasing.
It does have some missing stone pieces which you can see in the pictures and the lower right interior drawer is missing one of the pieces of wood on the side that keeps the drawer centered, otherwise for its age it’s in pretty good condition.
