Description: Offered is an original engraving, cut out of a folio size book, matted and framed under glass in a gilt bevel edge wood frame. On verso is a description of the art, a wire cable and bumpers at base over an antique white ground backing paper with silver gilt pattern. 'Village Frame - Santa Barbara, California' label adhered to lower verso.

The top of the board on a green field is one of those decorative fragments where Asian taste, regardless of the relationship between things, likes to play freely. The approximations and the oppositions of tones are the finest. The intense reddish-brown revivals, and sometimes the use of black, happily rule out any blandness, providing an airy serenity and lightness in the background.
