Dedicated to the splendors of the sun and shade as is the title "Sol Y Sombra".

This French mid-century sculptural floor lamp is very unique, it stands 52 1/4" high made of hand-cut, hand-applied bamboo, ebonized then polished and wood. The intricately designed resin shade with complimentary colors in red, beige and black.

A unique alternative to a reading lamp, would look wonderful next to a sofa or lounge chair.

The lamp bears the designers name on the stamped plaque and indicates the location where it was made Vallauris, France. Medaglini (1939-2011) was not only a sculptor but most notably a painter. He lived and worked in the south of France for many years. Little else is known about this talented artist.

A medium LED bulb is best to protect the resin shade as it will not get hot. Will enhance any contemporary or modern setting.
