The chair is very comfortable, padded. It rocks and swivels. Channel stitching and chrome base make this a real collectors item. Makers mark under cushion and features elegant channel tufted upholstery in a shell design and rounded sweeping back with circular chrome pedestal base. There are some minor pulls and darkening in spots to the fabric, but is in otherwise very good condition consistent with age. The base is also in pretty good condition with some minor corrosion but overall still very shiny. Great statement piece that is also very functional. Measures 30" wide, 32" tall, 34" deep, seat 16" high

From 1953 to 2003, Thayer Coggin and Milo Baughman collaborated on designs, engineering and manufacturing techniques that came to define the mid-century modern era of American residential furniture. Baughman's work was included in "High Styles: Twentieth Century American Design" at the Whitney Museum of American Art, and he was inducted in the the Furniture Hall of Fame in 1987 along with Thayer Coggin in 2004.
