The Master Silversmith That Made The Piece. It has No Coin Silver Mark but that is Not Unusual for Many of the American Coin Silver Pieces That Were Produced During This Period. Note that The Eagle Claw and Seashell Have a Gold Wash Finish but It is Does Have Some Age and Use Wear - Fading. It is Substantially Made out of Solid Coin Silver With a Accurate Weight of 119.47 Grams / 3.841 Troy Ounces. It is in Very Nice All Original as has Survived Over the Years Condition. It has No Damage and No Repairs. It Also has No Added or Removed Monograms. It is Lightly Tarnished - Could Use a Good Buffing - Polishing. SOME ADDED INFORMATION
Early American "Coin" Silver Starting in The Early 1700s had a 90% Silver Content Being 900/1000 Pure Silver as Opposed to Sterling Silver which has a Slightly Higher 92.5% Silver Content at 925/1000 Pure. Shortly after the Civil War the American Silversmiths Widely Adopted the Sterling Silver Standard that We Use Today.
