Antique Chinese Art Deco rug with European Influenced Chinoiserie style. This hand-knotted wool antique Chinese Art Deco rug features a subtle all-over arabesque pattern spread across a champagne field enclosed by an ornate floral border. The style displays a distinct European influence, while employing more traditional floral motifs with a Chinese sensibility. The gorgeous border framed by acanthus leaves features two large vase motifs at either end surrounded by scrolling floral vinery. The composition is framed by a plain black outer border, which aids in making the ornate designs of the field and main border seem to pop out with a slight trompe l'oeil effect. With its soft pinks and warm neutrals given definition by pops of blue accents, this antique Chinese Art Deco rug would bring a sense of romance and elegance to any interior, while its small size makes it highly versatile.
