The auction house estimated the value at $500 without the wooden base. The wooden base was purchased separately for $50. It wasn’t made to go with the bowl, but it suits it well, and will be included.
Surface pitting from age adds interest to the piece.
Doesn’t this vase go perfectly on the (Maitland Smith?) Pedestal? The pedestal is for sale separately.

When I did my research I couldn’t find another bowl like this at all. It’s pretty unique
This bowl was recently purchased from my favorite auction house. The reasons I love this auction house are because it deals only in Asian antiques, they are all treasures and more high end, and they estimate the value of the item closely. Some of the auction houses will say everything is worth $10-$10,000, which isn’t helpful at all, obviously. But this one always gives an accurate estimate, though similar items often are selling for way more online.

MY GUARANTEE IS THAT I WILL BE HONEST ABOUT MY ITEMS AND FAIR WITH MY PRICING.
There are three steps involved in pricing for me.
1. Use an app called Google Lens to take a photo of any item. It will bring up similar items and how much they sell/sold for. This is also helpful in figuring out what to call or how to describe the item.
2. Do a Google search for the name of the item.
3. Do a search for the item by name on Chairish.
Since I am being fair with my pricing I want you to know these steps. It will only help me by validating my pricing choices, and I hope it will help you buy my little treasures with confidence.
Feel free to ask me any questions and make an offer.
Thank you!
