With a quizzical stare and fabulous good looks, this kitty is seeking a great new forever home! People who know me well are aware of my love for felines, so inevitably I’ve received many kitty-related type gifts over the decades. N.S. Gustin Co. was founded in 1941 by Nelson S. Gustin. He and his family were also part owners of several other commercial whiteware ceramic manufacturing companies in Pasadena/Los Angeles, including Wildwood Ceramics, none of which are in business anymore. He is slender in profile and made of creamy white highly glazed earthenware. The floral and foliate motif offers hand painted pale green leaves with petals in hues of soft pink and lilac, pale magenta and yellow pistils with soft hazel eyes and soft pink tipped ears. He measures 8½” x 5” x 2¼” H/W/D; weight 1 lb. 3 oz. In excellent condition with minimal, if any, wear from use or handling. Makers label is on the inside (see photo 11); felt tabs on the bottom to protect surfaces. He’s an eye-catching fellow who will put a smile on your face every time you see him, wherever he’s perched, or a perfect gift for a feline lover in your life.
