It was skillfully hand carved in Japan from beautiful, high quality wood. The set includes 1 medium sized bowl, 4 mini bowls, and 1 serving spoon. The wood grain, smooth and minimalist shaping, and pale blonde coloring give it a handsome and incredibly mid-century appeal. The undersides are marked made in Japan with some remnants of the maker's name having been worn off with age.
