USA, 20th century
The flying figure of night historically symbolizes the passage of time. The woman in Flight of Night is probably Artemis, Greek goddess of the hunt and moon, who was chased from the sky every morning by Apollo.
Of good size and scale this fine casting of Artemis, draped bare chested floating with eyes closed and left arm raised by her head, signed and dated lower left side, 'Bernadette Zachara, 1977'. Mounted on an asymmetrical stained wood base.

The statue alone measures 114.5-inches high x 7-inches deep x 5-inches wide
