This " Cezanne in Provence " rare vintage 1989 first edition lithograph print extra large collector's hardcover Postimpressionist art book is an incredibly special and unique book to add to your library collection.
The hardcover art book is published by Clarkson Potter Inc. Publishers New York / Guillaud Editions, Paris / New York Printed in Verona Italy by Offset Print Veneta in 1989, photogravure Litho Service Verona, bound in Verona at Aurora. It features a monograph survey of the Postimpressionist artworks of the artist Paul Cezanne, with accompanied compelling text authored by Jean-Louis Ferrier, book conceived and designed by Jaqueline and Maurice Guillaud.
Paul Cezanne ( 1839 - 1905 ) was a French artist and Postimpressionist painter who laid the foundations of transition from 10th Century conception of artistic endeavor to a new and radically different world of art in The Twentieth Century. Cezanne is said to have formed the bridge between late 19th Century Impressionism and the early 20th Century new line of artistic inquiry. Both Matisse and Picasso are said to have remarked that Cezanne " Is the father of us all ".
This stunning volume celebrates the artist's depictions of his native Provence. It focuses on his achievement as a painter exploring the landscape and lifestyle in and around his hometown of Aix-En-Provence. Although he spent time elsewhere in France, especially in Paris, Cezanne repeatedly returned to Provence, where he lived nearly all the last twenty years of his life. In his studio, and on painting expeditions in the surrounding countryside, he created some of his most original and compelling works. beautifully illustrated on a special mix of premium art paper stocks including the famous Guillaud tissue style paper, this gorgeous book offers a true insight in to the creative genius of the Modern master Paul Cezanne.
