This is an older pair, no later than first half of 20th century and quite heavy. They have been lacquered, so you don't need to polish them. They were lamped in the 1970's. and I purchased them as lamps 12 years ago and opted to use them as candleholders. They fit a 3" diameter column candle..

Note if you want to convert these into lamps, they are set to go and the cost to complete would be minimal.
