This Really is Great Looking Authentic Antique Salvaged Ships Lantern. It is Primarily Made Out of Steel but the Top - Cap Appears to be Brass. Original Lighting Purpose - Deck Lamp. It has a Hanger at the Top and 2 Chain Fastener Loops at the Base for Securing - Stabilizing Purposes. It Still Retains its Original Cylindrical Molded Glass Lens that has Acquired a Light Amethyst Purple Color Over the Years. This is an Interesting Characteristic of Clear - Colorless Glass which Contains Manganese Dioxide Giving it a Tendency to Turn Different Shades of Purple when Exposed to the Rays of the Sun or to other Ultra-Violet Sources. PLEASE NOTE That This Lamp is Missing its Internal Oil Lamp Lighting Device. It Will However Display Very Nicely when Used as a Candle Lamp and I have Included - Provided a Brand New Candle that Comes With Purchase.
