This is Hubley's Phlox and Lillies of the Valley doorstop, model #473, one of Hubley's more petite doorstops. It featured on page 22 of Hubley's "Metal Art Goods Catalog," which noted that it was "painted in natural colors." For a cast iron doorstop this is relatively lightweight, at only 1 3/4 lbs. "473" is imprinted in the metal on the rear of the doorstop.
This could easily also be used as a decorative bookend.
The Hubley Manufacturing Company was founded in 1894 by John Hubley in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and started producing its Metal Art Goods line, including doorstops, in the 1920s. less
