The porcelain ashtray (4"W x 4"D) exhibits a strong Art Deco vibe … more Handsome European silver toned souvenir plaque and ashtray.
The porcelain ashtray (4"W x 4"D) exhibits a strong Art Deco vibe in its metallic finish and interesting square shape with concave curved sides and clipped corners. The center medallion features an image of street scene focused on the Arco de Cuchilleros, a stunning 16th century archway connecting the famous Plaza Mayor and the lively La Cava De San Miguel, a street of restaurants and nightlife venues in Madrid's core.
The wall plaque (6" Dia.) is of heavy pewter with scalloped edges. The center image is a sculptural rendition of the Luxembourg official coat of arms with its horizontally striped background and lion rampant. The crest is surrounded by 3-dimensional lions, flourishes, and crown. Ready to hang from the loop en verso.
Both pieces are in very good, vintage condition; minor finish wear at edges of the ashtray.
