This is an Absolutely Beautiful - Fine Quality Antique Sterling Silver "Confection" Candy Spoon.
The Handle is Embossed in a … more This is an Absolutely Beautiful - Fine Quality Antique Sterling Silver "Confection" Candy Spoon.
The Handle is Embossed in a Fancy - Bold - High Relief Art Nouveau Style Floral Design. It is Rendered in Much Sought After & Desirable Reed & Barton "Chantilly" Pattern. The Bowl has Pierced - Reticulated Features with a Slightly Faded Gold Wash Finish. The Back is Embossed with the Reed & Barton Silver Company USA Hallmark. It is Also Marked STERLING and "Patent Applied For". The Chantilly Pattern was Formally Patented by Reed & Barton in 1901 so This Must be a Very Early Production Piece. It has a Fancy Hand Engraved 3 Letter Monogram on the Backside - Top of the Handle Area. It has a Substantial Solid Sterling Silver Weight of 45.00 Grams - 1.447 Troy Ounces. It is in Very Good Original Condition - No Damage - No Repairs. It is Lightly Tarnished.
It Measures 6 1/8 Inches Long. The Bowl measures 2 1/8 Inches Wide - Handle is 3/4 Inch Wide.
