Liz created this piece in cut paper during a course she teaches called Bauhaus: Two Dimensional Design. One of the principles of The Bauhaus was to challenge the students to turn something very simple into something else altogether, therefore bringing out its potential. Here is one square Liz cut twice, using all of its parts has turned it into a new and dynamic form. A powerful and very interesting composition of positive and negative shape.
This Bauhaus study created by Liz is one of a set of ten she has created for our collection. They are wonderful on their own as single pieces, in pairs or sets.
