This embroidered vintage toran banner from Gujarat, India is extra long and well suited for a large wall space or table runner. It features a hand-stitched, repeating floral motif of large-scale plum-colored, dahlia-like flowers separated by repeating scrolls or foliage patterns of marigold yellow and seafoam green which are bordered by a triangle design specific to the region. Approximately 12 Feet long.
This textile was one of several hand-sourced in India directly from antique merchants. Their unique patina, wear and imperfections carry a glimpse into the culture and regions they resided in for decades prior, the passing of time, and the dedication, labor, and skill of their makers.
