This original, plein-air oil painting unfolds within my backyard on a summer morning, catching a moment before the sun reached the area. The vista melted my insides with it's lush atmosphere, reminding me of natures ability to cool and sooth my soul. As I stood among the shadows, refreshing blue and purple hues created a dramatic backdrop for the bright yellow iris. The deep contrast seemed to add to the gardens beauty, amplifying the flowering petals glow.
