Chinese porcelain Eight Immortals bangchuiping, a rouleau shaped vase, finely potted, with a white glazed exterior and interior, a turquoise glazed throat and inset base, and a gilt rim. The neck has four finely drawn, unique, landscape cartouches alternating with four repeating, ornate, floral medallions, on a light green ground covered with a dense lattice of small, pink, curling vines. The neck artwork is bracketed at the top with a band of small fleur-de-lys, and at its lower flange with a blue meander border within double red and gold circles. The top of the body is banded by Ru Yi Lappets on a yellow ground. The body of the vase depicts the Eight Chinese Immortals in a pine garden on the front of the vase and two of the Immortals, He Xiangu and Lu Dongbin, riding on a fenghuang amid the clouds, above roiling ocean waves and a whirlpool, on the back. The narrow foot is banded by a blue meander border. A band of large, polychrome, Ru Yi lappets surrounds the bottom of the vase at the foot. The neck artwork and the Ru Yi lappets at the bottom are in light relief. A six character, red, Daoguang reign mark in Zhuanshu script on a white ground is glazed to the inset base. Circa late 19th century, no later than early 20th. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand is included.
