A very rare Couroc of Monterey tray depicting Princton University’s Nassau Hall and the university crest.
The oldest building on Princeton University’s campus, Nassau Hall (1756) housed the entire school when it was known as the College of New Jersey, and served as the United States capitol in 1783.
The Couroc Company was founded by Guthrie Courvoisier and his wife Moira Wallace, who was an artist, in 1948. They designed and made thousands of trays, bowls & accessories which were hand inlaid by master craftsmen using shells, coins, woods & metals. Each piece is one of a kind. Sadly, Couroc stopped production of these beautiful trays in 1998.
The tray measures 18" wide, 12.375" tall & .75" deep.
