This fabulous design, Wreathed Cherry, consists of relief-form clusters with three cherries, leaves and stems that form a circular leafy wreath around each cluster. Each wreath is separated by triangular upside-down ribbed fans. The original mould for Wreathed Cherry was manufactured by Dugan Glass for its Carnival Glass collection in the 1910s. Dugan Glass closed in 1931 due to a fire and Wright Glass acquired some of the surviving moulds. Wreathed Cherry is one of the patterns Wright Glass did produce from the original Dugan mould. However, Wright Glass never mixed glass or pressed any glass. Moulds were jobbed out for the actual working to a variety of glass factories including Fenton, Mosser, Westmoreland, Gibson, Summit, Viking and others. The milk glass for this sawtooth scalloped edge creamer is beautifully translucent except for the ear-shaped handle which is opaque. It measures 5” x 4¾” x 3¼” W/H/D; weight 13 oz.; capacity 12 oz. In pristine condition with minimal visible wear. Made sometime in the 1950s to 1960s when a resurgence and interest in milk glass was going strong. For a collector of milk glass creamers this beauty should be a must have.
