This is a Great Looking - Unusual Antique American Primitive Stoneware 2 Gallon Storage Jug. Circa Late 19th Century. It has Beautiful Cobalt Blue Hand Decorated Features and it is Embossed with a Number 2 - Denoting its 2 Gallon Liquid Storage Capacity. These types of Jugs were typically used to Store and Preserve Liquids such as Cider - Hard Ciders - Spirits - Liquors - Spring Water, Etc. Note that It Comes with its Very Old - Most Likely Original Hand Carved Wood Plug - Stopper. It has no maker marks. It is most likely from the New England Region. It is in Excellent Condition with No Damage - No Repairs - Displays Beautifully.
