A wonderful 19th century (circa 1867) jug designed by Frederick Brett Russell (or Russel) decorated with brown, gold and cream majolica glazes. The exterior features raised oval cabochons and motto relief bands with a quote taken from one of Shakespeare’s earlier plays:
“What tho’ my cates be poor
Take them in good part
Better cheer may you have
But not with better heart”

The jug is in very good condition except for 2 chips on the bottom rim. The Wedgwood impressed mark is shown on the base. Perfect to gift to the Shakespeare lover in your life or to keep on display.
